How to measure your dog

Take the measurement, then enter it in the field.

  1. Have your dog stand.

    Choose a calm moment. Have your dog stand on all four paws. Use a flexible measuring tape.

  2. Measure around their chest.

    Wrap the tape around the widest part of their chest, usually just behind the front legs. Keep it flat against the body, without tightening it.

  3. Write it down, check, compare.

    Measure again to double-check, then compare it with your chosen product’s size chart. Don’t add extra room unless that product’s instructions say to.

No flexible measuring tape?

Use a non-stretch piece of string in the same place, without tightening it. Mark the length, then lay it flat and measure it with a ruler.

Once the accessory is on

Adjust the straps according to the product’s instructions. The harness should stay in place without restricting movement or allowing your dog to slip out.

How to measure your dog

  1. Have your dog stand.

    Choose a calm moment. Have your dog stand on all four paws. Use a flexible measuring tape.

  2. Measure around their neck.

    Place the tape where their collar naturally sits. Keep it flat against the neck without tightening it, then follow your chosen product’s measuring guide.

  3. Write it down, check, compare.

    Measure again to double-check, then compare it with your chosen product’s size chart. Don’t add extra room unless that product’s instructions say to.

No flexible measuring tape?

Use a non-stretch piece of string in the same place, without tightening it. Mark the length, then lay it flat and measure it with a ruler.

Once the accessory is on

You should be able to comfortably fit two fingers between the adjusted collar and their neck, without the collar slipping over their head. Check this with the collar on.
